“EU Aid Volunteers” Initiative Enters New Phase

Posted by on Dec 27, 2014

On 20 November 2014 the European Commission has adopted Implementing Regulation No 1244/2014 which lays down the rules for the implementation of Regulation No 375/2014 establishing the European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps (‘EU Aid Volunteers initiative’).

The “EU Aid Volunteers” initiative has been developed by the European Union’s Humanitarian Office (DG ECHO) to contribute to the EU’s humanitarian efforts in the following areas: disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction and by enhancing the link between relief, rehabilitation and development. This will be done through the deployment of EU Aid Volunteers in countries where the EU is delivering humanitarian assistance.
