The Sant’Anna Unit research responsibilities are threefold. First, researchers affiliated to Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna will situate IDL within the historical and political context that has triggered its emergence. Second, it will move to the definition of the notion legal perimeter by conducting a survey of relevant universal, regional and bilateral treaties and of their subject matters. Attention will also be paid to other branches of international law – such as international humanitarian law, human rights law, and environmental law. Lastly, Sant’Anna will investigate and compare regional disaster managment and systems established outside Europe. Coordinated by dr.
