Mauro Gatti is a postdoctoral researcher in EU Law and a teaching assistant of international law at the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna. His research agenda includes EU external action law, EU institutional law, European disaster response law and human rights law.

He holds a joint PhD in EU Law from the University of Bologna and the University of Strasbourg. He has also worked as a trainee for the European Commission (DG Europeaid) in 2011, where he provided legal advice on development cooperation policy.

Mauro Gatti is currently drafting, on behalf of the Italian Red Cross, a comprehensive study report on Italian and European disaster law, which seeks to assist the Italian government to strengthen its legal preparedness for the facilitation and regulation of international assistance.
